The Queenstown Wedding Association Christmas Party 2022 was a fabulous way for our community to come together and close the year in celebration!
We gathered at the Summer Views marquee, a beautiful Queenstown wedding venue that is a new addition to the NZ High Country venue portfolio. With 180 views of the surrounding mountain ranges, and overlooking Lake Johnson below, there were plenty of photo opportunities here. Plus, it’s only a ten-minute drive from Queenstown, and sits high on the hill just above Frankton.
We hoped for sunshine for our summer Christmas party, but alas the weather gods had other plans! But the rain didn’t stop us, as we were well covered within the marquee, where we enjoyed the delicious pizzas & snacks from the Italian Way Food Truck, and sipped on cocktails from the cutest travelling bar you ever did see; the Bernie Caravan Bar. And the icing on top was a visit for everyone’s favourite icecream truck: Mr. Whippy!
The party atmosphere was set thanks to DJ4You who provided all the sound equipment and a DJ to keep us grooving. And the ladies from Kellie Francis Photography were behind the lens as our official event photographers.
Our QWA Christmas party is always a family-friendly event and Babysitting Queenstown made sure the kids stayed entertained. With heaps of toys, games and crafts to distract the children, parents were able to relax and enjoy a well-deserved festive drink. The young ones also loved helping draw the winning tickets for our charity raffle in support of The Frankton Fire Brigade. Meanwhile, the interactive QT Booth mirror photo booth brought out the kid in everyone as we all snapped some silly selfies and got to take home custom photo strips as souvenirs from our fun day!

Queenstown Wedding Hire filled the space, both inside and out, with their beautiful furniture and games. Once the rain eased, we went outside to enjoy fun lawn games, and were greeted by the Frankton Fire Brigade’s big fire truck who gave us a fabulous firehose demonstration.
All the funds from our charity raffle this year went directly to the Frankton Fire Brigade, who are a team of volunteers only who do so much for our community in Queenstown and beyond. We managed to raise over $750 for the volunteer brigade which will be going towards a new, more equipped fire truck for the station.

Once it was time to say goodbye, everyone piled onto the Remarkable Experience vintage bus for a novelty journey back down the hill and away, concluding another great year of the Queenstown Wedding Association.
