A little party never killed ‘nobody!

Every year the Queenstown Wedding Association puts on a gala evening for its members to get glammed up, let their hair down and mingle together with their industry peers for an evening of music, food drinks and a whole lotta dancing.

It’s been another wild year for the wedding industry, so what better way to move through the year that was ‘22, than by throwing it back to the roaring 20’s at a Gatsby Gala?  Members were encouraged to come wearing their finest flapper gear and to come ready to mix n mingle with members, both new and old.

This annual event is always a highlight on the calendar for many reasons, but mainly because of the generosity of our members who help to make it a night to remember.

This year we gathered at the beautiful Jacks Point Clubhouse and revelled in their waterfront golf course views before tucking into the delicious canapés & drinks that their team served up.

And anyone with a sweet tooth would have been in heaven, with a dessert table that was absolutely overflowing with delights!  These sweet treats were handmade by QWA member Melissa of Cherry Blossom Cakes.  It was tough to choose between the yummy cake pops, macaroons or cupcakes… so one of each it was!

Keeping us entertained through the evening were the talented duo, The Pretty New, playing an absolute killer line-up of singalong songs and all-time faves. These two really know how to keep the room grooving.

A perfect addition to the party was the Amazing Travelling Photobooth, providing a vintage photo booth to capture all the fun.

Pull the curtain back for a fun little escape with your friends to snap a series fun photos that you can choose to print in black & white or colour.

Check out some of our favourite captures below:

And finally, to transport us back to Queenstown at the end of the night in their comfy bus were the legends from Nomads Safaris, making sure we all got home safe after a few drinks.

A super big THANK YOU goes out to all of the fabulous sponsors and supporters of the QWA Gatsby Gala but the biggest Thank You goes out to the volunteer QWA committee members who made this event a reality!

All in all, it was a fabulous evening to be gathered alongside our wedding industry whānau, and the countdown is on until we can do it all again!
