What does weddings at Level 3 look like in Queenstown?
The Government has confirmed that on Tuesday April 28th New Zealand will be moving to Alert Level 3. Under this new alert level local weddings will be able to start taking place again. This means that if you live in Queenstown and you want to get married, you can – yay! However, there are some very strict guidelines still in place.
Below is a summary of the Government guidelines for weddings under ALERT LEVEL 3:
Wedding ceremonies are allowed to take place, but there is to be no food served and NO wedding receptions. This means that you cannot serve food after the ceremony and there is to be no reception or party afterwards.
Wedding ceremonies are strictly limited to 10 people only. This total of 10 needs to include you two, your celebrant and your videographer / photographer. However, they must be from within your immediate or extended bubble. Please see www.covid19.govt.nz to read the detailed rules about ‘Covid19 bubbles’.
You must stay local. This means that you and your bubble must physically be in the vicinity of Queenstown already. You must also continue to wash your hands often, keep 2 metres distance from others and protect your bubble.
Check out the QWA online directory to find a planner, celebrant or photographer to help you with your wedding day during Level 3.
NOTE: The alert level is set to be reviewed again on Monday May 11th. For up to date information on weddings in New Zealand please see www.covid19.govt.nz.
