The QWA Christmas party was held on Thursday 28 November at Lake Hayes Pavilion. This was a great chance for our members to catch up and enjoy a festive drink, as well as an opportunity for them to give back to our community through our charity raffle.
SO…. TELL US ABOUT THE PARTY!

What’s a Christmas party without some bubbles? The team at Liquor King Kindly donated lots of the fizzy stuff which we mixed with orange juice to make a mimosa cocktail! Yum!
Managing the bar areas and keeping our party safe as well as clean and tidy was In 2 Food superstar Andy! When you plan a party at a DIY venue there are so many things you just don’t think of… well, not Andy, he had EVERYTHING under control!

The aptly named Moreish Kitchen set up a 1.7m grazing table complete with the most delicious Christmas ham! Our hungry members followed their noses to the incredible platter and piled their plates high with goodies.

Showing off their epic wine barrel bar with secret compartments was Queenstown Ice. Not the easiest task on such a warm evening but these guys kept themselves and all our drinks cool!

Not only did Nomad Safaris provide a 41 seater bus to transfer guests to and from the party, they also brought along their 100% zero emission electric Teslas. Easy on the eye and on the environment, these are the perfect eco-wedding car option and some of our lucky members got a ride home in one!

LA Social really know how to get the party started! From melodic flutes to rocking guitar solos this band really have got it all, and had all our members busting a move on the dance floor.

Meanwhile, our kids corner was sponsored by Babysitting Queenstown who kept the kids busy with activities and games. It was a big hit, especially the egg and spoon race!

The Vice Cream truck was a huge hit with their delicious dairy free and gluten free ice cream! With something for everybody you can guarantee to have happy guests… ice cream is ALWAYS a good idea!

An old horse float turned photo booth provided lots of laughs and great take-away snap shots from our QWA party. This beautifully renovated travelling photo booth was cute, quirky and lots of fun!

Pacific linen had us covered, quite literally, with their gorgeous table cloths which fitted our rustic and natural styling theme perfectly!

The lovely Nicolet from Cocktail Merchant helped us plan, source and create all our other drinks options. From a Christmassy Pimm’s cocktail to a non-alcoholic punch and expertly selected wine and beer… it was exactly what we needed to keep the party pumping!

Providing all the wonderful styling details and comfy spaces to lounge and relax on a gorgeous spring evening was Queenstown Wedding Hire. They really helped to transform our blank canvas into something fun and festive!

Capturing all the action from the night was Kate Roberge who is also our Workshops Coordinator for the QWA. Thanks to Kate for snapping away at all our lovely sponsors who generously donating their time and services to pull off one epic party!!
Thanks also to:

For kindly donating all glassware with the view to support both the QWA and the Wakatipu Youth Trust. Your ongoing support is appreciated.
CHARITY RAFFLE – WAKATIPU YOUTH TRUST
Every year we support a local charity through our QWA Christmas Raffle and this year we chose the Wakatipu Youth Trust who provide preventative and early intervention services to young people (aged 10 – 24 years old). Their services help these youths to develop meaningful friendships and feel supported and valued, so that when they do face a difficult time, they have a safe space where they can find someone to talk to and seek help. What a great cause right?!
