Charlotte Winkel

President

I’m a marriage celebrant, wedding blogger and wedding planner based in Queenstown and have officiated over 400 weddings!

After many years as a Queenstown Wedding Association member I took on the President role in winter 2020. Firstly we strive to provide the best resources and vendor options to couples planning their Queenstown wedding. And secondly we support and advocate for local wedding industry businesses so that they can serve their couples to the highest standard. I also have a passion for giving back to the Queenstown community, enabling sustainable wedding practices, and promoting LGBTTQI+ inclusivity.

Kate Roberge

Vice President / Workshops

I’m a local wedding photographer based here in Queenstown since 2015, going into my 6th wedding season this year!

After a few years in the Queenstown Wedding Association, I was first asked to be on the committee in the workshop chair role and have since also taken on the position of Vice President and love getting to be a part of running the association.

My passions in the QWA are helping members learn all they can to create a successful and passion filled business for themselves and also encourage community and inclusivity within the wedding industry.

Sarah Arkin

Marketing

Sarah was the founding President of the Queenstown Wedding Association and has been a dedicated committee member ever since. With three different wedding businesses based in Queenstown covering planning, hire items and eco-weddings, she’s one of the busiest women in weddings we know!

As our Marketing Chair Sarah coordinates our marketing and social media strategies and seeks out any promotion opportunities she can to secure Queenstown as the ultimate destination wedding location.

Melissa Couch

Membership Development

Melissa works as the Sales Manager at Heritage Queenstown and has always been an active member of the Queenstown Wedding Association. She has a wealth of experience in the hotel weddings and events sector across Australia and New Zealand spanning 20+ years.

Melissa’s role as our Membership Development Chair involves seeking out new opportunities and benefits for our local wedding vendors. She’s so passionate about what’s on offer here at the QWA that she loves to tell everyone about it!

Kellie Francis

New Members Chair

Kellie is originally from Canada but has made New Zealand her home for many years. She is passionate about sustainability, loves nature and strives to preserve our planet. Kellie’s balance of friendly enthusiasm and compassionate understanding makes her perfect for the role of New Members Chair. Her role is to help all new Queenstown Wedding Association members get the most from their membership and integrate into the community seamlessly.

Kellie loves weddings, big and small and is usually photographing them through Kellie Francis Photography. In her free time she loves getting outdoors, playing with her doggo Bay and travelling as much as possible.

Erin Hill

Social and Events

Hello, I’m Erin: a celebrant, mother of three, and wife to one. My role here on the QWA committee is as part of the QWA events team.  If there is anything you would like to see us organise for the benefit of the QWA community or if you’d like to be involved and sponsor an event please let me know, I am all ears!

I am a trained independent celebrant, and I am completely dedicated to co-creating bespoke ceremonies, carefully undertaking guidance from my couples.  Fun fact – I met Stevie Wonder while I was working for Airnz, and he insisted that I jotted down his very own Chilli Jam recipe, a recipe I still use today.

My friends describe me as an adrenaline junky.  Skiing water and snow, biking, fast cars, parachutes, sailing and hiking holidays bring it on, I am up for it all.

Rachel Clifford

Social and Events

Rachel is all about events, and weddings.  Living in Queenstown for 15+ years, she has a strong background in hospitality, event management & venue management –  but weddings and celebrations are her true “happy place”.

Currently the Event Manager for Wayfare Group, Rachel is specifically involved in events in Queenstown on board the TSS Earnslaw & at Walter Peak High Country Farm.  Rachel has been involved with QWA as a member on and off for a number of years, and is now a volunteer committee member, excited to be involved in the QWA events team.

Silke Kellner

Treasurer

Silke, originally from Germany, moved to Queenstown in 2012 after 2 years on Waiheke Island.

The move was supposed to be just for one winter season… but she is still here! As a shareholder of In2Food catering and her position as the Operations Manager, she knows a lot about the wedding industry in Queenstown.

For the QWA Silke takes care of our day-to-day accounts as the Treasurer.  Running a busy catering business linked to a popular Queenstown wedding venue, Silke can also assist with planning social events for the association.

Tess Kelly

Secretary

Tess originally joined the QWA committee overseeing the website and has helped to ensure a great aesthetic and practical functionality. With a background in marketing, specialising in digital, website management is a real interest for Tess. Now, Tess is our Secretary, working with Charlotte and Kayla to ensure meetings are effectively organised and recorded.

When Tess isn’t busy helping the QWA she can be found at Heli Glenorchy or Heliworks Queenstown where she manages Sales & Marketing.

Sam Jones

Web Worker

Sam developed the new website here for QWA, so if you’re having any issues he’s the guy to get in touch with.

And if you need any help with your own website he’s the guy to get in touch with 🙂

Sam’s been making websites in Queenstown for about 8 years now and has helped many of our members with their own online presence in that time.

Kayla Robertson

Administration

Kayla is all things Admin for the Queenstown Wedding Association, working as our virtual assistant (who is sometimes not so ‘virtual’ when attending QWA events).

Originally from Australia, Kayla moved to Queenstown in 2019 after falling in love with the beautiful landscape, the town, and of course, the people.

While having a strong administration and organisational background, she is passionate about the love and joy that weddings bring, especially when surrounded by the beautiful scenery that is Queenstown.
