Sarah Arkin

President

Sarah was the founding President of the Queenstown Wedding Association and has been a dedicated committee member ever since. With three different wedding businesses based in Queenstown covering planning, hire items and eco-weddings, she’s one of the busiest women in weddings we know!

As our Marketing Chair Sarah coordinates our marketing and social media strategies and seeks out any promotion opportunities she can to secure Queenstown as the ultimate destination wedding location.

Kellie Francis

Vice President / Workshops

Kellie is originally from Canada but has made New Zealand her home for many years. She is passionate about sustainability, loves nature and strives to preserve our planet. Kellie’s balance of friendly enthusiasm and compassionate understanding makes her perfect for the role of New Members Chair. Her role is to help all new Queenstown Wedding Association members get the most from their membership and integrate into the community seamlessly.

Kellie loves weddings, big and small and is usually photographing them through Kellie Francis Photography. In her free time she loves getting outdoors, playing with her doggo Bay and travelling as much as possible.

Sarah McIlwrick

Treasurer

Hi I’m Sarah – long-term Queenstown local (almost born and bred).

I have been a part of QWA since its infancy having organised many weddings at Millbrook Resort.

After many years of being a member I thought it was time to put my hand up and help the organisation – my role is Treasurer making sure you get the most out of your membership.

I owner and operate Relax it’s Done with my business partner and long standing member Margaret Gibbs.

I am passionate about Queenstown and making it a world-class destination for weddings and celebrations.

Melissa Couch

Membership Development

Melissa works as the Sales Manager at Heritage Queenstown and has always been an active member of the Queenstown Wedding Association. She has a wealth of experience in the hotel weddings and events sector across Australia and New Zealand spanning 20+ years.

Melissa’s role as our Membership Development Chair involves seeking out new opportunities and benefits for our local wedding vendors. She’s so passionate about what’s on offer here at the QWA that she loves to tell everyone about it!

Erin Hill

Social and Events

Hello, I’m Erin: a celebrant, mother of three, and wife to one. My role here on the QWA committee is as part of the QWA events team.  If there is anything you would like to see us organise for the benefit of the QWA community or if you’d like to be involved and sponsor an event please let me know, I am all ears!

I am a trained independent celebrant, and I am completely dedicated to co-creating bespoke ceremonies, carefully undertaking guidance from my couples.  Fun fact – I met Stevie Wonder while I was working for Airnz, and he insisted that I jotted down his very own Chilli Jam recipe, a recipe I still use today.

My friends describe me as an adrenaline junky.  Skiing water and snow, biking, fast cars, parachutes, sailing and hiking holidays bring it on, I am up for it all.

Sam Jones

Web Worker

Sam developed the new website here for QWA, so if you’re having any issues he’s the guy to get in touch with.

And if you need any help with your own website he’s the guy to get in touch with 🙂

Sam’s been making websites in Queenstown for about 8 years now and has helped many of our members with their own online presence in that time.

Kayla Robertson

Administration

Kayla is all things Admin for the Queenstown Wedding Association, working as our virtual assistant (who is sometimes not so ‘virtual’ when attending QWA events).

Originally from Australia, Kayla moved to Queenstown in 2019 after falling in love with the beautiful landscape, the town, and of course, the people.

While having a strong administration and organisational background, she is passionate about the love and joy that weddings bring, especially when surrounded by the beautiful scenery that is Queenstown.
